I was born in Duncan on Vancouver Island , British Columbia but I spent most of my life in rural towns in Alberta . I grew up as a small town country girl. Trust me when I say, life was not an easy road traveled for my brother and myself. Despite my country roots, I've come back to the city seeking opportunity only a big city can bring.
I've never been known as shy instead, more social and outgoing. Sometimes, I am even so open and talkative that people can spend hours chatting with me. I am very giving and tend to always want to help people by listening to them or giving the best advice I possibly can. I feel if you're a good person, the sun will always shine on you somehow. Because I am so social and helpful this led me to a career in the beauty industry, where I could make people beautiful and chat up a storm.

Eventually, my career took a turn to teaching in the beauty industry. I was able to pass on the talent I felt so passionate about. How lucky can a girl get? I did open my own salon that was very successful called “Ladies ‘n Lace.” We made National headlines and, as the name suggests, we cut hair in tasteful lingerie. Unfortunately, I lost my salon due to health problems a year later but this never kept me down. After managing salons and competing in several hair shows, I had a wonderful lady see something in me that I had never seen. This wonderful lady has been my agent since. Being in the limelight of the beauty industry, gave me the courage to pursue acting and modeling. I never dreamed that this is where I would be a few years later.

Contact sports were always a favourite of mine and have led me to an interest in stunt work. I have always loved “boy's games” such as: hockey, hunting, all-terrain vehicles, firearms, and most of all, I love to train with weights. I may appear to be a girlie girl, but there are many sides to Valerie. I am inspired by Shania Twain, who kept her country heart on the way to the top. I always wished I could be her or Catherine Zeta Jones. Actually, many people say I look like both of those ladies. Well, I can only wish.....
